ICDC Carol Youth Dream Center for Creative Arts and Learning Services Activities

The Creative Arts and Advocacy Youth Development Program aims to support the academic and pre-professional, artistic and positive social and emotional development of young people and engage them as leaders in a sustainable Community.

Academic Enrichment Program (AEP) - After School

The Carol Youth Dream Center provides homework and individualized academic enrichment to after school program participates. The students are broken up into "groups" according to grade levels that do not exceed 15 students. Homework enrichment will be provided daily for one hour sessions with two academic tutors assigned to each group.

Literacy Learning Program (LLP)

Throughout the school year, students in grades 1-12 attend weekly literacy classes. The youth dream center take a thematic approach to literacy in order to engage the young people and encourage a love of learning. Students take part in innovative and interactive activities that help them to become more adept and expressive readers and writers, critical thinkers, presentations, book readings, discussions, debates, games, narratives and poetry.

Arts in Education (AIE)

The Carol Youth Dream Center offers comprehensive arts-in-education activities, which foster appreciation of the arts, and skill building and supports the young people's personal well-being and academic growth.

Children Using Tablets

Leadership Development Program (LDP)

Youth development staff encourages young people to take leadership roles in the after school program and to become involved with their community through content based class curricula and hands on activities. Look for other organizations to partner with.

Social Skills Building Program (SSBP)

The Carol Youth Dream Center will partner with family counseling centers, Higher learning institutions to provide social skills training focused for the development of youth self-esteem, empathy, conflict resolution and leadership.

Summer Youth Programs (SYP)

Each summer the Carol Youth Dream Center will host 80 youths from ages 13-25 during our first summer camp for teens (TEEN CONNECT). We will be working on building our community throughout leadership, art, music, mentorship, counseling services, science and technology activities.
 

Participants have the opportunity to learn leadership, social skills, mentoring, music, teamwork, critical thinking and assist staff with various duties such as: junior youth counselors and activity youth specialists through summer program and youth Leaders will be comprised of teens from the community through Department of Youth services and the Carol Youth Dream Center.

Teen Holistic Program (THP)

Teen Programming at the Carol Youth Dream Center will promote a holistic healing program that is purpose and mission driven, transformative, Integrity & character based, leadership pointed, safe and caring. Young adults from 13-25 can register for one or multiple free workshops throughout the year leading toward college and professional career in arts, technology, nursing, education, community leadership.

Academic Support Program (ASP)

At the Carol Youth Dream Center Participants will learn a broad array of education strategies including tutoring, summer learning experiences, have teacher advisor and volunteer mentorship as well as alternative ways of learning and staying informed.

College Tutoring Preparation (CTP)

The purpose of this workshop series is to prepare high school students not only for college courses, but for college life itself. Students will be challenged to take their writing and reading skills to the next level while establishing a deep personal connection to the power of purpose and vision.

Music Learning, Assembling and Production (MLAP)

The Carol Youth Dream Center Academy for Digital Media and Production offers fundamentals of music reading, vocals, electronic music assembling, music production, instruments learning.

Photography Learning Program (PLP)

At the Carol Youth Dream Center participants will learn photography composition, techniques and editing.

Visual Arts Program (VAP)

Participants will learn painting, drawing, and framing techniques to appeal to the aesthetic senses and help them to improve imagination in the field of art.

Dance Learning Program (DLP)

Participant will learn different kinds of dancing and how to express themselves in/with dancing and will learn different techniques and execution.

Theater Arts Program (TAP)

Participants will learn a wide range of courses in the theoretical and applied practical aspects of theater: acting, performance studies, voice, movement, performance media, script analysis, playwriting, directing, and an array of courses in design and scenography.

Action, Lighting and Camera (ALC)

This exciting program for youth will offer cutting edge theater productions by partnering with professional theater actors and other professional organizations to enhance the skills of the participants.

Stem Program (STEM)

This exciting program for youth will offer cutting edge theater productions by partnering with professional theater actors and other professional organizations to enhance the skills of the participants.

Stem curriculum will prepare students for future jobs market that involves a combination of math, science, Engineering and Technology. These will equip students to graduate in a better position to find and keep a job.
